November 25, 2013

A truck driver in New South Wales was taken to hospital after a rock thrown through his windscreen left him with cuts to his face and hands.

The 65-year-old driver was heading south along Whylandra Street at Dubbo northwest of Sydney about 11pm on November 22 when the rock smashed through the front windscreen.

NSW Police says the rock continued through the cabin of the truck and through the passenger-side window, which also smashed.

“The man suffered from minor cuts to his face and hands as a result of the incident. He was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment,” a statement from NSW Police says.

“Police have commenced inquiries into the incident and are interested in speaking to a group of children seen in the area at the time.”
