Driver recruitment platform to launch in Australia

New Zealand company Road Ninja will launch its platform in Australia and initially focus on filling FIFO driver roles

A New Zealand-based company is crossing the Tasman and hopes to be able to ease the strain on Australia’s skilled driver shortage through the introduction of its online driver hiring platform.

Road Ninja is a subscription-based platform targeted at simplifying driver recruitment for businesses and empowering drivers to have greater control over their own career decisions.

The platform has 1400 pre-vetted drivers in its New Zealand database, with 3000 drivers using the company’s digital logbook, Log Ninja.

Initially the company will target the creation of opportunities for Kiwi drivers in Australian FIFO roles, while also connecting Australian drivers to roles across the country.

Road Ninja Founder and Managing Director Bodhi Vette says the company’s growth target was always to establish itself in the Australian market.

“Australia is a natural pathway for us,” Vette says. “We already have experienced drivers in New Zealand who can service the FIFO opportunities there, and many Kiwi drivers are eager to take on these high-paying contracts.”

The flat subscription fee offered by Road Ninja differs from traditional recruitment agencies in the industry, which charge per hire or take a percentage of the drivers’ pay but instead attempts to place drivers and businesses in direct contact to cut those traditional fees.

Every New Zealand-based driver on the platform undergoes a strict vetting process including NZTA licence checks and Ministry of Justice screenings to ensure all drivers meet safety and legal requirements.
