Annual event aims to equip trucking firms with tools to improve safety and compliance.
Registrations have now opened for this year’s Technical and Maintenance Conference (TMC).
The annual event will run from October 27 to 29 in Melbourne to provide attendees with advice on how to improve safety and compliance in their heavy vehicle fleets.
The Australian Trucking Association (ATA), which runs the event in conjunction with the Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association (ARTSA), says the conference will discuss what roadside inspectors are looking for when examining a truck and how to deal with compliance under national heavy vehicle regulations.
“We know there are some fleets that attract the attention of the authorities and some fleets that get through their inspections with minimal fuss,” ATA CEO Stuart St Clair says.
The conference program includes technical sessions, compliance forums and hands-on product training workshops.
“The TMC 2014 program puts safety-critical maintenance first, with sessions to help businesses get the most out of their tyres, brakes, suspension and couplings,” St Clair says.
The Craig Roseneder Memorial and Industry Achievement awards will be presented during the TMC.
The event will be held at the Automotive Centre of Excellence at the Kangan Institute.
