The 2025-2027 round of West Australia’s Regional Airports Development Scheme (RADS) is now open, with up to $3.8 million in funding available to regional and remote airports around WA to improve aviation infrastructure, planning and safety.
RADS grants are open to airport owners and support up to 50 per cent of total costs for projects.
Since the program’s inception over $53 million has been invested 326 regional and remote airport projects actoss the state.
The new round of RADS grants comes in addition to the state budget’s $94 million commitment to regional aviation activities.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti says the RADS scheme is a crucial commitment to the growing of organisations and industries across WA’s regional communities.
“The Labor government’s continued investment in RADS is an important part of our overall commitment to aviation initiatives that support economic development and growth in the regions,” Saffioti says.
“Our funding for airport upgrades results in better safety and accessibility for regional and remote residents, enabling them to connect to family and friends, health services and businesses across Western Australia.”
