Aurizon has reopened its Blackwater rail system

Aurizon has reopened its Blackwater rail system after it was damaged by ex Tropical Cyclone Oswald.
Rail lines on the Central Queensland Coal Network have been repaired and are now open to diesel coal trains
Electric coal train services are recommencing today across Blackwater.
Full operations are expected after the restoration of overhead wires is completed.
The Blackwater system connects mines in the southern Bowen Basin with Gladstone Port.
According to Aurizon, the company is working with customers to recover railings lost after the Blackwater line closed on January 26.
Meanwhile, Aurizon continues to recover the nearby Moura network, which has sustained extensive damage due to flooding, including the full replacement of three kilometres of track and earthworks.
The Goonyella and Newlands networks continue to operate as normal.
