Recall notice issued for Freightliner Cascadia 2021

A faulty sensor that has the potential to enable more air pollution than allowed by Australian standards has prompted Daimler Truck Australia Pacific to recall one of its popular 2021 truck models

A soot sensor component that may not have been installed as intended has led Daimler Truck Australia Pacific to issue a recall notice for a number of trucks in the Freightliner Cascadia 2021 model series.

If incorrectly installed, the soot sensor may cause the vehicle to release air pollutants that exceed the standards set in Australian Design Rule (ADR) 80/03.

Daimler Truck says there is no safety hazard from the fault, and it will not affect the performance of the vehicle.

It says owners of the trucks should contact an Authorised Daimler Commercial Vehicle Dealership who will inspect the soot sensor and if required, re-program or replace it, free of charge.

To find your closest dealership, phone 1800 033 557 or send an email to DTBCampaigns@daimlertruck.com or visit https://www.freightliner.com.au

Recall notices are regulated by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts.
