Paccar's auditing procedure picks up incomplete components in prime movers
April 12, 2013
Paccar has issued a voluntary recall for two DAF XF105 prime movers fitted with adaptive cruise control (ACC) and forward collision warning (FCW).
Internal auditing procedures have indicated that due to a parts shortage two vehicles were delivered to Australia with incomplete ACC components.
The affected trucks arrived without the FCW unit that is usually installed behind the radiator grille of the XF105. Whilst the cruise control of the two trucks would function normally, the adaptive function that detects traffic ahead of the prime mover would not slow the vehicle or alert the driver when required.
DAF Trucks Australia General Manager Stephen Downes states that in accordance with Paccar’s proactive stance on safety a voluntary safety recall notice was issued.
The owners of the two trucks have been notified by registered mail and will have the issue rectified.
