Ramco plans expansion in Australia

Software firm has signed deals with SeaRoad and GMK Logistics

Cloud and mobile-based enterprise software provider Ramco Systems has signed a new agreement with SeaRoad Holdings that will see the latter replace its legacy system with an integrated IT suite from Ramco.

The suite will manage operations across SeaRoad’s business divisions including SeaRoad Shipping and SeaRoad Logistics covering areas like transport management, fleet management, warehouse management, hub management, logistics command center, customer and vendor contracting, finance, accounting and human capital management including Australia payroll.

The announcement was made during the official launch of Ramco’s new office in Melbourne yesterday.

The new office will serve as the company’s Oceania headquarters.

Ramco says its decision to focus on global payroll and logistics had helped grow business, particularly in Australia.

“The appetite of Australian businesses to adopt disruptive technologies and test new waters has been a key driver behind Ramco’s growth in the region,” Ramco Systems vice chairman P.R. Venketrama Raja says.

“We have been able to win the trust of some of the largest conglomerates and business houses and are thrilled by the progress made.”

The company says its logistics suite will help SeaRoad “experience seamless transactions across its business divisions ensuring better visibility and streamlined operations” by integrating its workforce, customers and suppliers under a single platform.

Ramco has also recently signed an agreement with Victoria-based GMK Logistics for a new integrated software suite.

“We entered Australia at an opportune time when businesses in the region were looking for alternate options to help them embrace the digital transformation wave,” Ramco Systems CEO Virender Aggarwal says.

“Our thrust on Innovation and bringing simplicity into enterprise applications has been a key value differentiator.”

Small business, innovation and trade minister Philip Dalidakis says Ramco’s decision to set up its Oceania office in Melbourne will help Victoria’s growth in the technology sector.

“Ramco’s decision to base their Oceania HQ in Melbourne strengthens Victoria’s growing reputation as a leading destination for global business and tech investment,” Dalidakis says.

“The Andrews Labor Government is bolstering Victoria’s push to be the number one tech destination across the Asia Pacific and Ramco’s innovation and logistics presence in Melbourne will help us do this.”
