Quantron rises from the ashes

Zero-emission transport company Quantron has exited insolvency proceedings and will continue its operations

Hydrogen truck and zero-emission transport manufacturer Quantron has risen from the ashes of insolvency and is once again trading under a refocused strategy.

Quantron had initially filed for bankruptcy at the end of October 2024, with the company’s court-appointed administrator initiating a structured sales process in November.

A holding company belonging to Quantron CEO Andreas Haller has been named as the purchaser. Quantron had initially been founded in July 2019 as a spin-off company of Haller GmbH & Co. KG.

A seven-figure investment sum was initially floated as needed to save Quantron when it entered bankruptcy proceedings.

“After challenging months, we are moving forward with fresh energy and a clear vision,” the company says.

“Thanks to increased efficiency, strategic realignment, and a strong team spirit, Quantron has emerged stronger from the insolvency process.

“Our mission remains: driving the transformation of transportation with zero-emission solutions.

“We are focusing on sustainable growth, international partnerships and technological innovation.

“A huge thank you to our team, partners and customers for their trust and support – together, we are shaping the future of mobility.”

During the insolvency process Quantron was operating with a reduced staff of roughly 40 employees, down from its previous headcount of over 100.

Haller praised the conduct and drive of the company’s employees and stakeholders through the difficult insolvency period.

“Our most important asset is our people,” he says. “Their tireless commitment, perseverance, and belief in our vision were key throughout this phase.

“We owe them our deepest gratitude – as well as to our loyal customers, reliable partners, and dedicated suppliers who supported us with unwavering trust. Their loyalty and valuable collaboration have been, and continue to be, a vital factor in our success.”

“We have laid the foundation to make Quantron resilient, profitable, and healthy in the long term – and at the same time, we remain fully committed to advancing our vision of transforming the transportation sector”

Haller also took to social media to share a heartfelt message as Quantron now re-enters the zero-emission transport market.

“Today is a day I will never forget,” Haller writes. “In my last post (October 15, 2024) I shared a very person story with you: I had a heart attack.

“In that moment, my life came to a sudden, brutal halt. But what most people didn’t know was that, while I was fighting for every heartbeat, the very heart of my professional life – Quantron – was also fighting to survive.

“I founded Quantron in 2019, driven by nothing but an idea, courage, and the deep belief that we could change the world. That we could redefine mobility and make it truly sustainable.

“But the last few years have been nothing short of a storm.

“COVID, the war in Ukraine, a crashing capital market, political instability, cancelled government support – and finally, a hostile takeover attempt that brought us to the brink and into insolvency.

“It wasn’t just a financial crisis. It was a crisis of identity, of purpose, of hope.

“In the darkest hours – both personally and professionally – I drew strength from my roots. I come from a family business that I proudly lead in its fifth generation. A company that survived two world wars. And from it, I’ve learned one thing above all:

“You never, ever give up. That belief carried me through. It carried all of us. Today, I can say with deep emotion – we made it.

“Quantron is free. The insolvency is over. We are alive. We are back.

“This isn’t just a milestone. It’s a rebirth. My heart is beating again – and it beats stronger than ever for this vision, for my team, and for the future we want to create together.”

A press conference is set to be held in Q2 2025 to present details of Quantron’s future strategy and projects.
