Daimler recalls Cascadia model

The truck supplier is recalling 16 units of a new model

Daimler Truck and Bus Australia is issuing a recall on its Freightliner Cascadia product.

All variants, including 16 units within the Freightliner Cascadia model between 2018-2021, are being recalled due to a defect.

Daimler says that because of a manufacturing issue, the battery cable connection may break, resulting in the vehicle potentially losing electrical power and shutting down the engine without warning.

This could put drivers at risk of an accident, especially if all electrical power is lost and the engine shuts down quickly without giving drivers the time to pull over.

Owners of the 16 Freightliner Cascadia models can contact authorised Daimler commercial vehicle dealerships as soon as possible to have the necessary worked carried out free of charge.
