Bridgestone names top performing truck store

The service centre group released the winners of its annual DRIVE program awards

Bridgestone has announced its Warrnambool service centre as the winner of the truck store of the year title as part of Bridgestone’s annual DRIVE program awards.

The Victorian service centre didn’t just take home the main award, also clinching the Bridgestone service centre of the year gong for Victoria/ Tasmania.

The DRIVE program is the national recognition scheme for Bridgestone select and service centres around the country.

It was launched in 2020 and sees stores benchmarked in line with Bridgestone’s values of customer centricity, delivering a leading customer experience and exceptional value for tyre and auto services.

The program recognises top stores nationally and by region across three main categories including franchise of the year, store of the year and truck store of the year for Bridgestone truck, bus and retread sales.

Bridgestone service centre Warrnambool owner Peter Baulch says the accolade comes from family teamwork and a loyal trucking community around his store.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the team and our customer base,” Baulch says.

“To win this prestigious award has been a big effort by everyone and it’s shared between the team at the store and our customers.”

With his son Tim running the retail side and other son Jamie running the truck division, Baulch says the award was won through teamwork, innovation and working closely with customers.

Having recently opened a truck workshop in Hammond Place to better meet the needs of fleet and truck customers, Bridgestone Warrnambool is still operating at its primary store in Fairy Street.

This has grown the business, but the award was still a shock for Baulch.

“We’ve come a long way and it’s a great reward for our team – they really bust their backsides day in, day out, so this belongs to them,” he says.

Bridgestone Warrnambool joins Bridgestone Gladstone (Queensland), Kempsey (NSW/ ACT), Ceduna (SA/ NT) and Wedgefield/ Port Hedland (WA) as winners of the regional truck store of the year.
