Cavotec supplying battery charger for mining trucks

The company will produce battery charging systems for mining trucks from 2023

Cavotec has been signed on to supply a proof-of-concept battery charging system for use with heavy-duty mining trucks.

Cavotec says the major development helps signal its entry into industrial battery charging for heavy-duty vehicles and the value of the first order is over $3.2 million with a potential for follow-up orders.

The order could open the market and help Cavotec emphasise the importance of battery charging applications on trucks.

Cavotec is a green energy technology company and will develop a proof-of-concept solution for electrically powered heavy-duty vehicles high-voltage charging at mining applications in Australia.

The project is expected to be delivered from the beginning of 2023 and will underline Cavotec’s development of large-scale industrial battery charging solutions and technologies that help industries decarbonise their environmental impact, according to Cavotec.
