AMA pushes on to snap up Newcastle operation

National Truck Repairs and National Central come into heavy vehicle fold

Truck repair consolidator AMA has put recent management issues aside to acquire its ninth major Heavy Motor Repair facility for an undisclosed sum.

Newcastle’s National Truck Repairs and National Central becomes part of the group, which regards it as a “perfect strategic fit for the ever expanding Heavy Motor Division”.

“National Truck Repairs is such a well-run and respected industry leader in the Heavy Vehicle Repair sector, we are delighted to have them on board to complement our burgeoning team,” division CEO Darren Wales says.

“Having a facility of this calibre in the Newcastle region complements our National Repair Network, which is the only Heavy Vehicle Repair organisation to have such a national presence.”

Wales adds that, despite the recent change of the Group’s CEO it is business as usual operationally.

“Myself and our executive team are laser focused on providing our clients, both transport operators and Insurers alike, with exceptional service and competitive pricing structures,” he says.

“We are 100 per cent committed to this task. Companies will always undergo change. Our staff, management and technicians are the backbone of our company. This is what sets us apart from our competition.”

National Truck Repairs CEO Rodney Landers sees his operations gaining from being part of bigger entity.

“We looked long and hard before joining Darren and the AMA Heavy Motor team,” Landers says.

“Having the backing of such an organisation like AMA, with the systems and process that they have put in place is second to none.

“Their commitment to the industry for the long term gave us piece of mind to provide our customer base an exceptional level of service and satisfaction for many years to come.”

AMA Heavy Motor Division now consists of 250 staff across nine sites Australia wide: Parins Truck Repairs (Perth), All Transport Smash (SA), Western Truck Repairs (Vic), Recar Truck Repairs (Brisbane, Townsville, Clayton), Wales Truck Repairs (NSW), Wales Bus Repairs (NSW) and National Truck Repairs (Newcastle).
