Older Freightliner recall for pressure fuel line replacements

Daimler Truck and Bus Australia issues recall due to fuel leak concerns

Daimler Australia is recalling certain Freightliners sold between 1999 and 2005, due to concerns fuel may leak from the pressure fuel line.

“A fuel leak may result in the vehicle stalling or a possible engine fire, increasing the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users,” the recalls notice advises.

Owners are requested to contact any authorised Detroit Diesel dealership, who will replace the pressure fuel line, free of charge.

Freightliners were recalled last year due to clutch issues

 The recall affects the following:

  • Freightliner Argosy and Century Class (FL/B112) trucks fitted with Series 60 Engines, model years 1999-2000 (56 affected vehicles)
  • Freightliner trucks fitted with non-EGR MBE 4000 engines, model years 2001-2005 (44 affected vehicles).

Affected VINs for the former can be found here and latter here.
