Royan Group makes foray into New Zealand

Private equity-backed truck repairer also develops new Brisbane site

Commercial vehicle repairer the Royan Group has made its first strategic acquisition since linking with private equity.

It has expanded into New Zealand with the purchase of fleet refinishing centre Transvisual Spraypainters in Auckland.

Located close to Auckland airport, it will continue to trade as Transvisual with all contact details unchanged.

Founders Richard and Julie Ryan will remain in the business for a transitional period.

Royan Group’s NZ operations will be led by David White, who arrives after more than two decades with PPG Industries.

“I am extremely excited to be working with Julie, Richard and the entire Transvisual team, and in particular to be leading the growth strategy for the Royan Group here in NZ including some exciting expansion plans that will take our business and the commercial transport repair industry in New Zealand to a whole new level,” White says.

Royan’s recent history of mergers and acquisitions includes buying Polan’s Truck Refinishers in 2019 and being spotlighted by private equity firm The Growth Fund earlier this year.

Back in Australia, Royan is also developing a new Brisbane light-truck facility.

Located on the southeast corner of its existing property at Wacol, the new workshop is being purpose built specifically for light-to-medium truck accident repairs.

Royan says it will consist of six workbays and a parts storage section, housed in a 608 square metre site.

“The new workshop will provide a modern, dedicated light truck repair workshop to cater for this increasing market segment,” the company says.

“It will have its own entrance off Industrial Ave, Wacol and its own office and will provide light truck owners with quality repairs and minimal downtime.”
