Fiat boosts drivetrain to enhance Ducato van

Series 7 also gains safety additions sweeten the update

 

Fiat Professional has launched a refreshed the Ducato Series 7, now powered by the all-new 2.3-litre turbo diesel Euro 6D engine.

The new ZF 9-speed automatic transmission delivers “optimal torque while ensuring best fuel efficiency”, together with the 180 multijet engine producing 130kW power at 3,500rpm and 450Nm peak torque for automatic and 400Nm for manual vehicles.

“The improved drivetrain along with the transmission updates in the new Fiat Professional Ducato enhances the overall vehicle performance and provides ultimate comfort,” Fiat Professional Australia brand and product strategy director Guillaume Drelon says.

“Whilst delivering more torque and a smoother drive, we’re also thrilled to now offer additional standard safety and convenience features within the Fiat Professional Ducato range.”

The updated range introduces a suite of standard safety and convenience features, including full brake control and lane departure warning, reverse camera, brake assist, roll-over mitigation and a hill holder.

An additional $2,190 Safety Pack option adds features including Blind Spot Assist +, Rear Cross Path Detection, Traction+ and Hill Descent Control.

The $2,190 Comfort and Tech Pack offers a 7-inch infotainment screen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes LED Daytime running lights, automatic climate control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Additional side sliding doors are $1,190.

All vehicles in the Fiat Professional Ducato range now feature the all-new 2.3L Euro 6D engine, 9-speed automatic transmission and new AdBlue tank.

The $57,500 extra-long wheelbase (XLWB) mid-roof vehicle will only be available with auto transmission and the rest of the range will be available with 6-speed manual or $2,890 auto transmission.

Cargo capacity and payload are:

  • Mid-wheel base low roof – 10 cu m; 1,510kg
  • Mid wheel base mid roof – 11.5 cu m; 2,190kg
  • LWB mid roof – 13 cu m; 2,14kg
  • XLWB – 15 cu m; 2,015kg.

Space between wheel arches are a uniform 1,422mm.

The updated Fiat Professional Ducato range is on sale from $46,300 MSRP through Fiat Professional Dealerships across Australia.
