Heavy vehicle equipment concern SAF Holland Australia has made Mario Colosimo its managing director, effective on February 3.

The hugely experienced Colosimo, who has more than 35 years’ experience in the sale, supply and manufacturing in road freight transport equipment and componentry, will report to the company’s president for Asia Pacific, India and China, Mike Ginocchio.

Vice president of Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA), he has also been dealer principal at MaxiTrans NSW and GM of Byrne Trailers.

An engineering graduate and the 2010 Don Watson Memorial Award winner, Colosimo hit his career straps in trailers, becoming Tieman Industries chief engineer before moving to a broad and multifaceted senior management position at BPW Transpec, looking after its marketing sales, logistics and technical support for its wide range of products.

He went back to trailers in 2013 to become general manager of MaxiTrans arm Freighter.
