ten Broeke returns to Scania fold

Sales executive re-joins after stints with rival truckmakers

Mark ten Broeke has returned to Scania Australia after seven years, enlisted as the brand’s national fleet sales manager.

Part of the national fleet sales management team, he joins managers Steven Alberse and Phillip Mayfield, reporting to sales director Dean Dal Santo, based in Brisbane but will cover the east coast.

ten Broeke worked for Scania for 15 years in new truck sales and mining services roles before departing in 2013, with stints at Isuzu and Penske Commercial Vehicles.

“I have a passion for the Scania product, and now with the combined benefit of the suite of services we can provide to fleet customers, the Scania story is compelling,” ten Broeke says.

“I always believed that Scania could be a major player in Australia, and more than 10 years ago Scania Australia had a plan for selling more than 1,000 trucks a year here, and it has achieved that despite the interruption of the GFC.

“And with the success of the New Truck Generation in Australia, Scania has proven itself capable of adapting its state-of-the-art product line-up to meet the needs of a diverse range of applications, from extreme heavy-haul and interstate line-haul, to medium-duty urban distribution, and a host of vocational tasks as well.

“As the leading provider of sustainable and low emission alternative and renewable fuel engine options, Scania can also provide answers for fleets looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

“I am looking forward to catching up with a few familiar faces, but also taking the Scania story out to fleet operators who have not yet had the chance to sample the complete Scania package, or appreciate exactly what we can offer in terms of improved uptime and total operating economy.”

How Scania lifted the lid on its AXL cab-less concept

Scania Australia sales director Dean Dal Santo welcomed ten Broeke’s appointment to the Scania fleet sales division.

“With Steven Alberse and Phillip Mayfield already on board, we have a strong team of experienced, enthusiastic and knowledgeable managers who understand the demands of the fleet business,” he says.

“With our suite of services and the extremely successful NTG range, Scania is perfectly positioned to provide operating benefits to fleet owners across Australia.

“Mark adds depth to our team as well as intimate knowledge of a broader range of the market, given his seven years spent working for non-European brands. I wish him every success in this new role.”
