MaxiTrans’ Freighter trailer range sold within the past year is subject to a product recall.

Certain Freighter SD Semi trailers with ramps, on sale between September 3, 2018, to September 10, 2019, may experience a valve malfunction in the hydraulic power pack.

"If the valve malfunctions, the ramp may not lower in a controlled manner or the hydraulic lowering mechanism may not function correctly and may cause injury to anyone that comes in contact," the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) says.

MaxiTrans observes tough market conditions in its annual results

The commission advises owners will be contacted by MaxiTrans by mail and/or telephone to contact their nearest service centre to book an assessment and repairs where necessary.

42 units are affected by the recall.
