Recalls announced for Iveco Acco and Daily vehicles

Issues with ACCO seatbelts and Daily towbars lead to recalls

Iveco’s truck and light commercial divisions have been affected by recall notices in recent days relating to ACCO and Daily models.

On the trucking side, ACCO model year 2015 vehicles may have a manufacturing fault causing the seat belt mounting bolt to fail.

“If the bolt fails, the seat belt may detach and no longer restrain the seat occupant, increasing the risk of injury in the event of an accident,” the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) reports.

Iveco will replace the seat belt mounting bolts on affected vehicles, which applies to fixed seating on the passenger side only.

The recall affects 146 trucks – vehicles with air-ride seating are not impacted.

Isuzu Gigas were also recently subjected to recalls

Meanwhile, certain 2014-2016 Daily 35S and 50C models may contain a fault that causes a towbar to fully or partially separate from the mounting points during towing.

“If the tow bar separates from the vehicle, there is an increased risk of an accident or injury to the vehicle occupants and other road users,” ACCC says.

The recall affects 240 vehicles: 35S owners with tow bar number 500071094 and 50C owners with tow bar number 500072223.
