Fuso boss Whitford departs on industry change

Daimler sees successor to taking charge of make with ‘strong foundations’

Fuso’s boss in Australia, Justin Whitford, has left the company to take up a new business opportunity outside the industry, Daimler Truck and Bus reports.

Whitford most recently served in the role of director for Fuso Truck and Bus Australia and leaves as the brand has just introduced the new Shogun heavy-duty truck and upgraded Canter.

“I would like to thank Justin for his time at Daimler and wish him all the best for the future,” Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific president and CEO Daniel Whitehead says.

The local parent company has begun the process of identifying a successor.

Whitehead says the person who fulfills the position will have a strong foundation to build on thanks to the great Fuso product range.

“Fuso’s Canter is the only light-duty truck in Australia with Active Emergency Braking and the just-introduced Shogun heavy-duty truck is a class-leader with exceptional technology, comfort and performance,” he says.

“The excellent Fuso product range, backed by our stellar dealership network, presents an excellent opportunity for growth.”
