BTS 19: Playing their part

Up above the truck and trailers on the foyer level, the parts and accessories stands at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre’s mezzanine and plaza levels had every conceivable product and gadget to stretch every truck owner’s imagination

 

Their natural truck show habitat is generally the upper floors, an escalator ride or two from huge hall where the trucks and trailers and glitz live.

Yet the parts and accessories folk know they are the grease that keeps the industry rolling the way customers stalking the big hall want it to.

Up there can be found towing systems and IT, weighing systems and lights – and enough other bits and pieces to make visitors’ heads spin.

And if forced to pick one thing that bound them all together, it would be impossible to go past the immense regard they have for the growth and development of the show and their desire to return for the next one.

With around 200 exhibitors showing products weighing in at much less than a truck or trailer, talking to all was not an option but here is a selection of those we did have a chat with.

When it comes to information technology and powerful telecommunications, developments come thick and fast and, perhaps, trade events can’t come quickly enough.

Teletrac Navman fronted up to the BTS keen to spruik new and existing products, mindful of the fast-changing market landscape, not least for electronic work diaries (EWD).

This year, STS is in a sweet spot where Right Weigh products are on-point in the market and the need to detail new or updated technology could wait for another time.

Amid the accessory and ancillary stands on the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre’s plaza level, Bartlett Integrated Transport Solutions was making its third appearance at the Brisbane Truck Show with a range of truck towing systems.
