Double the fun at BTS for Western Star

5800FE and 6900FXC to grace its stand this year

Western Star Trucks will display the 5800FE and 6900FXC at its much‐anticipated return to the Brisbane Truck Show later this month.

“Aerodynamically designed for productivity including down-swept exhaust, the recently‐released 5800FE combines Western Star’s trademark toughness with streamlined efficiency,” Penske Commercial Vehicles says.

“The 5800FE also boasts outstanding driver visibility, a set‐back front axle that is ideal for B‐double applications, and Detroit power under the hood with the renowned DD15 combination of performance and reliability.

“In addition to the 5800FE, Western Star will also display the 6900 model. Hand‐crafted like all Western Star trucks, the 6900 is the toughest of the Star stable.”

Available as a tri‐drive and with a gross combination mass (GCM) of 250,000kg, the well‐proven 6900 excels in the harshest of conditions. And powered by the efficient and innovative Cummins X15, the 6900 is available up to 600hp (447kW).

“Since we released the streamlined 5800FE last year, customers have told us that they have found the truck to be outstanding,” Penske Commercial Vehicles MD Kevin Dennis says.

“The truck not only looks sleek, but is a great unit particularly for b‐double applications.

“We also think truck show attendees will enjoy learning more about the 6900 that has been a true stalwart of the Australian trucking industry.”

Visitors will find Western Star Trucks and MAN Truck & Bus at foyer stand 50.

DJR Team Penske’s Dick Johnson will be at the stand from 11.30am on the Sunday for a meet and greet with show attendees.
