Last year the iconic Australian trailer manufacturer, Drake Group, hit the big 6-0 and third generation worker in the family business and sales manager Sam Drake speaks to us about the company’s underlying DNA.

It started back in 1958 for the Queensland-based company with a desire to build strong, Australian-made trailers that’d outlast and outperform the rest.

At this year’s show the Drake stand was all about deck wideners, however it was another of their products that stole the limelight.

“The theme was definitely deck wideners featuring three different variations of the model, however the stand out on display was the BoXLoader featuring all the latest and greatest improvements including lighter tare weight and Step over cranes,” Drake says.

To this day, the Drake Group remains a leader within the Australian trailer market and Drake says it comes down to the quality of their trailers, and the strong focus on customer service.

“The Drake Group of companies bring together generations of experience providing a large range of transport solutions,” he says.

“We are Australia’s number one manufacturer of quality built low loaders, semi-trailers and producer of premium diecast collectable models.”

Of course, Drake is known for going big at the Brisbane Truck Show and they didn’t disappoint this year, stacking trailers and bringing us a display that dwarfed most others!
