Qube Bulk in Bunbury, Western Australia, has unveiled a new trailer innovation, called Quicksilver.

The logistics and infrastructure company reveals it devised the solution due to the nature of its work, which involves regularly hauling high-moisture cargo such as lithium and heavy mineral concentrate.

That cargo often sticks to the inside of the trailer, making it challenging and time-consuming to upload, Qube says.

Working with global plastics company Quadrant and Australian distributor E-Plas, the trailer liner "is made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethene and its smooth surface assists with eliminating catch points during the unloading process".

Using the QuickSilver liner, the trailer can be completely unloaded at a reduced tipping angle, which results in a more efficient unload process.

"The primary advantage of the QuickSilver solution is that it reduces friction, other solutions on the market don't always have this ability," Qube Bunbury operations manager Glenn Gibson says.

"Since installing the QuickSilver liner, Qube has seen a marked difference.

"We've had excellent feedback from our clients too, so it's a win-win all round."
