Charging station details and off-roader also in the mix
Nascent alternative propulsion truck manufacturer and energy firm Nikola expects to slip the covers off its pre-production hydrogen electric prime mover, 2.3 megawatt hydrogen station and the Nikola Powersports NZT 4X4 off-road sports vehicle.
The Phoenix, Arizona, event at the new Nikola World facility, is invite-only for Nikola reservation holders, suppliers, media and investors on April 16-17 and open to the public on April 18.
“Not only will our team be unveiling the most advanced production semi-truck the world has ever seen, but we will also be revealing the Nikola NZT all-electric 4×4 vehicle and a massive 2.3 megawatt hydrogen station. This is why we named it Nikola World — we want to create a better place to live where emissions are eliminated,” Nikola Motor Company CEO Trevor Milton.
“The largest fleets and customers in the world will attend this event and they will see what no other OEM [original equipment manufacturer] could deliver – a production-ready, zero emission semi-truck, with over 1,000-mile (1,600km) range, 20 per cent less operating costs per mile, more horsepower, torque and safety features than any other diesel ever built, and a startup did it.

Demonstration drives are to follow the unveilings.
The company says that, to date, it has nearly US$11 billion in pre-order reservations.
Vehicle service collaborator Ryder System and retailer Thompson Caterpillar will be on site at the event to “work with fleets and customers to finalise orders”.
By 2028, Nikola says it is planning on having more than 700 hydrogen stations across the US and Canada.
The company said in November that each station is said to be capable of up to 8,000kg of daily hydrogen production, while each Nikola truck is expected to consume around 50-75kg per day.
The company plans to open its research and development facility In Phoenix in November.
