Chevin scales down for SMEs

A new software package aims to give SMEs the fundamental tools to manage vehicle fleets

Aiming to accommodate small to medium sized operators, fleet management software company  Chevin Fleet Solutions has launched a new product it says is highly competitively priced.

According to Chevin, FleetWave CORE is a pre-configured version of its existing fleet management software that contains the tools needed to support essential fleet, maintenance and compliance management responsibilities.

The product has also been downsized from Chevin’s regular offering, with the company removing the project management and configuration services usually included in the package.

Chevin managing director Ashley Sowerby says the new software package comprises all the tools and reports that most organisations will need to run an operation from the cloud, adding that it would be updated with new features regularly.

“Developing a pre-configured version of our product that can be instantly deployed but still expanded with additional functionality post-installation has allowed us to offer the benefits of FleetWave to a much wider market,” he says.

At this point, FleetWave CORE has features such as an asset registry, regulatory and legal compliance checks, fuel logs, accident history, costing reports, maintenance tracking, dashboard key performance indicators and vehicle and equipment allocations built in.

But the software can also be extended with a range of additional modules, tools, reports and configuration options, which Sowerby says other SME packages will find difficult to match.

“There’s an enormous range of great looking fleet applications appearing on the market, but they are unfortunately far too basic or rigid,” he says.

“Meanwhile, more scalable enterprise fleet systems often have a price tag which is unattainable for budget-stricken fleets, especially when it comes to making an initial investment.

“FleetWave CORE fills this gap in the market.”
