Chevin launches new data collection app

FleetWave Forms can do more than day-to-day driver duties, company says

Chevin Fleet Solutions has unveiled a new data collection mobile app, FleetWave Forms.

The company says the app offers an advanced level of code-free customisation for fleet managers and drivers.

FleetWave Forms allows users to custom-build data collection forms, the fleet management software provider states.

“The app can be used to replace any manual or paper-based data collection form – and can even be accessed offline, facilitating automatic uploads into FleetWave as soon as an internet connection becomes available,” Chevin states.

“Designed with drag-and-drop tools for ease of use, Chevin’snew form building admin software allows managers to create bespoke data collection tasks using features such as dropdowns questions; free text entry; date/time selection; decimals, geolocation stamping, signature capture, barcoding and more.

“The creator can specify who can access each form based on a number of varying factors such as driver name, vehicle type, job role, department and more.

“Workers can then simply log-in to view their forms, collect information and submit data back into FleetWave using either an iOS or Android device. “

Users can share and receive “business-critical information” such as vehicle inspections, mobile technician worksheets, driver trip records, business expenses, accident inventory, safety and risk assessments, sales transactions, proof of delivery, among other things.

It offers various benefits, including:

  • improved visibility of information from field workers
  • direct and automatic integrations with FleetWave
  • enhanced accuracy and timeliness
  • creation of an auditable compliance trail
  • enforcement of superior financial controls
  • promotion of sustainability by eliminating paper, digitalising data and automating its transfers
  • increased security of confidential information by eliminating postal requirements
  • elimination of dual data entry.

“The new application also eliminates risks and inefficiencies associated with manual methods; labor-intensive data entry; information processing delays; workload duplications; incorrect interpretations; lengthy invoice cycles; missing or incomplete data records and potential loss or damage of paper docs,” Chevin states.

The app “bridges the communication gap between a mobile workforce and the back office, working to eliminate paper-based methods of collecting information”, Chevin regional sales manager for Asia Pacific Jackie Kirk says.

“Relying on manually intensive processes can expose an organization to risks – not to mention the actual cost and resources involved in managing paper – however, FleetWave Forms helps to improve the management of remote workforces, at the same time reducing administrative tasks and increasing productivity.

“When compared to manual methods of fleet data collection, FleetWave Forms can be up to 92 per cent more cost-effective”.
