BP snaps up Pilbara truckstop leases

Investment firm Acure spruiks deal after previous manager hits wall

Truck stop leases at Carnarvon, Karratha, Port Hedland and Newman are now under BP control after a deal with Western Australian private equity firm Acure.

The sites were previously managed and leased by Outback Travel Centres Pty Ltd, which went into voluntary administration in June.

According to Acure MD Angelo Del Borrello that the agreement with experienced operator BP ensures the long-term future of our facilities network and demonstrates a commitment to the region and local employment.

“Acure is very pleased to have negotiated long-term lease agreements for these four properties with such a large and experienced tenant. It is also proud of its success in keeping the doors open,” Del Borrello says.

Acure says the Karratha, Carnarvon and Newman truck stops offer facilities such as:

  • B-double access and parking
  • high-flow diesel pumps
  • healthy, fresh-cooked meals
  • truck drivers’ lounge
  • showers and laundry facilities
  • 24/7 operation.
