Small number of Actros trucks recalled

Catch bolt issue could lead to potential gearshift system malfunction

A recall has been issued of 14 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks sold between November 8, 2016 and May 9, 2017.

A notice on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) states: “On affected vehicles the screw/bolt in the range group catch bolts may come loose.”

“This would reduce the distance of the catch bolt, resulting in gear shifting problems and possible failure of the gearshift system,” the notice states.

“The loss of shifting capability during vehicle operation may lead to a lack of forward movement and to coasting of the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident for the occupants and the surrounding traffic.”

The full list of affected vehicles can be found here.
