More than 7,000 Fuso Canter trucks recalled

Recall affects vehicles sold between March 2011 and April 2015

A recall has been issued of 7,173 Fuso Euro 5 Canter trucks.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice states that the injector fuel return hose on the affected vehicles may swell and disconnect if exposed to chemicals from paint, shampoo or grease.

“These chemicals may be used during rear body building or washing,” the ACCC notice states.

“If customers continue to use the vehicle while the hoses are in this condition the hose will come adrift from the connector.

“This may cause a fuel leak, posing a fire hazard.”

The recall affects vehicles sold between March 1, 2011 and April 1, 2015.

Owners are advised to contact an authorised Fuso dealership to arrange for a replacement injector fuel return hose.

Full list of affected vehicles can be found here.
