Truck company to disengage MD and sales roles
Local Eaton general manager Martin Toomey is joining Scania Australia as head of sales.
Outgoing managing director Roger McCarthy announced Toomey’s appointment, which is seen as complementing the skill set of McCarthy’s replacement, Mikael Jansson.
Through his tenure, McCarthy has held a dual role as managing director and sales director for truck bus and engines.
That will now change.
“As part of our reorganisation and to really strengthen the management structure, with Mikael coming very much from an aftersales background, we have taken the decision to introduce a new head of truck bus and engines sales.
“Effective in the next few days, Martin Toomey, who was with the Eaton Corporation, will join Scania as the head of our sales organisation truck, bus and engine sales, effective in the next few days.”
The appointment comes at the start of the company’s business planning process next week.
