Isuzu appoints Hiroko Yaguchi new leader in Australia

Replacement steps in after short tenure of Hiroshi Nishizaka

Experienced Hiroko Yaguchi will now lead Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) after Hiroshi Nishizaka’s short stint as MD and CEO.

Having replaced Koichi (Mike) Yoda last August, Nishizaka now remains in Japan “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

Before his appointment with IAL, Nishizaka had run Isuzu Trucks South Africa.

“We thank him for his contribution to IAL, albeit brief, and anticipate that he will shortly be re-assigned to another role within Isuzu Motors (Ltd), Japan,” IAL director and chief operating officer Phil Taylor says.

According to a company biography, Yaguchi is an Isuzu veteran of more than three decades standing and, amongst other positions, she has worked as an assistant general manager of Isuzu Motors’ Panama office in 1998-2001 and international sales group leader at Southeast Asia Group between 2011-2014.

IAL says Yaguchi is currently general manager, International Sales Dept. No. 4, Isuzu Motors Ltd and is thus familiar with its operation and is well qualified to fill the position.

“Many of our dealers had the opportunity to meet her recently at the national dealer meeting held earlier this year in Sydney, where she was a guest and presenter on behalf of Isuzu Motors,” Taylor says.

“The final changeover date is yet to be determined, however we anticipate it will be made effective sometime during May or June, to permit an orderly transition for Yaguchi-san into the new role.

“We are hoping that Yaguchi-san will be able to join us for the Brisbane Truck Show in late May, where we will be displaying a wide selection of models with the emphasis on Ready to Work bodied trucks.

“We wish Nishizaka-san well for the future, and extend a warm welcome to Yaguchi-san.”
