Penske Commercial Vehicles appoints WA dealer

Transition sees retail operations move to Hazelmere facility, while NZ dealerships rank high in service contest

Penske Commercial Vehicles has appointed Hazelmere-based Penske Power Systems as its exclusive Western Australian dealer.

The 6,720sqm facility will accept full retail sales, service and parts responsibility for Western Star Trucks, MAN Truck & Bus and Dennis Eagle Truck beginning April 3.

This follows the recent successful transition of the Penske Commercial Vehicles retail operations in Mackay, Townsville, Darwin and Cairns to Penske Power Systems locations.

“The customer is at the heart of everything we do, and the Penske Power Systems branch in Hazelmere has a well‐earned reputation for delivering superior customer service and workmanship,” Penske Commercial Vehicles MD Kevin Dennis says.

“We have world‐class products and a philosophy to deliver world‐class customer service.

“What better way to deliver on that than through leveraging our own Penske network.”

The facility is also the distribution centre for vehicle parts across WA.

Meanwhile, three New Zealand-based Penske Commercial Vehicles dealers have featured in the top five places for the Asia‐Pacific region at MAN’s global Service Quality Awards.

Heavy Trucks Christchurch, Penske Commercial Vehicles Auckland and Penske Commercial Vehicles Mount Maunganui scored first, third and fifth respectively in the international contest that sought to find the best workshops in the MAN service network.

The participants were judged across various service departments such as warehouse, spare parts, customer service, reception, invoicing, after sales, service contracts, warranty, workshop, diagnosis and electrics.

“It’s wonderful to see three of our dealers in the top five places for Asia‐Pacific,” Penske Commercial Vehicles NZ GM John Keenan says.

“Particularly Heavy Trucks Christchurch who has been awarded the best MAN workshop in Asia‐Pacific three years in a row.

“All our dealers adhere to the highest standards of customer service and technical expertise, however it’s very rewarding to receive this recognition from MAN in Germany.

“2016 was a great year for us and we’re looking to build upon that for 2017.

“In 2016, Penske Commercial Vehicles secured MAN’s return to number one in the 10,000kg plus bus and coach market segment in New Zealand.

“And when combining MAN trucks sold in the 10,000kg plus market with the bus and coach market, MAN placed first in the premium market, and third in the total market.”

The ‘mystery call’ stage of the Awards is currently underway, with the contest’s finale to be held in Germany in June.
