Renault recall on Trafic III for suspension link

Panhard rod may come loose on some vans

Particular Renault Trafic III vans may need to have their Panhard rods adjusted, according to a recall notice.

Affected units have vehicle identification number (VIN) of VF11FL112E0709587 to VF11FL118G0733943.

They were sold between July 1, 2015 and January 21, 2016 but not all vehicles within the range are affected.

“The rear axle may have an insufficiently tightened Panhard rod bolt, due to a production error,” the recall notice reads.

“There may be abnormal noise and tyre friction inside the wheel arch, which may be followed by a risk of uncoupling of the rear axle from the body.

“This could lead to unstable road holding, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Owners of affected vehicles are to be notified to contact a Renault dealer to arrange for inspection and rectification of their vehicle.

Further information is available from any Renault dealer or by phoning Renault’s customer relation department on 1800 009 008.
