Jost Australia aids tech school

Queensland training school supported by industry equipment supplier

Equipment supplier Jost Australia has handed Skills Tech QLD, Acacia Ridge two brand new fifth wheels to help the institution train future industry technicians.

According to the equipment maker, the opportunity to provide the two Jost JOST JSK 37 CZ fifth wheels came when Peter Donaldson, a teacher in the vehicle body building section of Skills Tech Acacia Ridge, contacted them to talk about older Jost fifth wheels that had been supplied some years ago.

Jost Australia’s Brisbane branch manager Bob Martin took Donaldson’s call.

“When Peter told me what model fifth wheel they had, I decided that the apprentices need to be trained on the latest model equipment,” Martin says.

“I contacted my MD, Mr James Mackie and we decided to donate the JSK 37’s.”

Mackie, the managing director of Jost Australia, says it is all about the industry’s future.

“I believe it is vital that future industry technicians are trained up on advanced componentry and their applications,” he says.

The two new products have already been handed over to the training school.
