The Uniden UH9080 has an LCD display with up to seven customisable colours.

Those working in rural areas need reliable, stable methods of communication to remain efficient and ensure their safety and peace of mind. Uniden says its new line of radios have been built to trade quality and are ruggedised for use in harsh Australian conditions.

The new series includes the flagship UH9080 UHF CB radio and scanner in one, as well as the UH9060 and UH9000 CB radios. The radios have an ultra-compact design that makes them easy to install in utes or 4X4s with space limitations.

They can run off either 12V or 24V power supplies, making them compatible with a wide range of vehicles.

All models in the new series have a 5-watt maximum transmission output and have a dual-speaker setup (one in the microphone and one in the base) for better clarity.

The units make use of Uniden’s proprietary BearCat scanning technology with up to 80 accessible channels.

An LCD screen on the microphone can be customised with up to seven different backlight colours, and a ‘voice enhancer’ feature on the UH9080 and UH9060 models lets the user switch between four different audio settings – normal, bass, midrange and high – depending on conditions.

These two models can also record and replay up to one minute of recently received transmissions. This feature can also be set to record any incoming messages while the user is away from the vehicle, making sure no important information is missed.
