Navistar adds three to board

New appointments bring wealth of experience to the truck maker’s board of directors

Navistar International has announced the appointment of three new directors to its board.

Effective immediately, the change sees José Maria Alapont, Stephen R. D’Arcy and Dennis A. Suskind as new Navistar International board members and brings the total number of directors to 12.

To join the company’s finance committee, Alapont has a history as president and CEO at automotive supplier Federal-Mogul Corporation and at Fiat Iveco.

He also has over 30 years of experience at Delphi Corporation, Valeo S.A., and the Ford Motor Company.

The second new member D’Arcy will be adding to Navistar’s audit committee, bringing experience with consulting and investment firms Quantum Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

He has also served on the boards of Vanguard Health Systems, Penske Corporation Premier, Hudson-Webber Foundation and The Detroit Medical Center.

The third new face Suskind will join the board’s compensation committee, providing over 55 years of experience from J. Aron & Company, Goldman Sachs, NYMEX, COMEX, the Futures Industry Association, the International Precious Metals Institute, CME Group and Bancorp.

“We are delighted that José, Stephen and Dennis have agreed to join our board as each brings a wealth of relevant experience and special expertise to the board,” Navistar’s non-executive chairman of the board Jim Keyes says.

“Their knowledge and expertise will be invaluable to Navistar and its management team.”
