Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific has recalled 38 Sprinter vans over issues with fuel injector lines.

According to an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice, the high pressure fuel injector lines fitted in the affected Sprinter models "may not have been manufactured to specification".

"This could lead to the formation of cracks in the fuel lines and subsequently result in fuel leakage," the notice says.

"Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may potentially lead to a fire."

Sold nationally between October 1 and November 30 last year at authorised dealerships, Mercedes-Benz says affected customers will be notified by letter.
