Volkswagen Caddy models recalled
ACCC warns that Caddy models left in gear may move on their own
Volkswagen Group Australia has recalled 2012 and 2013 Caddy vehicles over issues with the on-board power supply control unit.
According to an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice, the affected models pose an accident risk as they can move by themselves if left in gear.
"On Caddy vehicles of a limited production period, the earth attachment of the on-board power supply control unit may not have been correctly tightened," the notice says.
"In certain circumstances the starter motor may crank the engine when unlocking the vehicle.
"If the vehicle is left in gear, the vehicle can then move."
The ACCC says the vehicles were sold nationally and customers should contact their nearest Volkswagen dealership.
