Penske opens new New Zealand facility

New headquarters in Auckland brings all Penske arms together

Penske Commercial Vehicles and Penske Power Systems in New Zealand are now under the same roof thanks to a new facility in Wiri, Auckland.

The new headquarters, opened by Penske Automotive Group chairman Roger Penske and Auckland mayor Len Brown, covers 17,748 square-metres and will be the home of Western Star Trucks, MAN Truck & Bus, Dennis Eagle, MTU and Detroit in the country.

“We are thrilled to grow our footprint in New Zealand with a state-of-the-art all-new facility in Wiri,” Penske says.

“This represents a significant investment for the company, and demonstrates our commitment to dealers and customers in the region.”

Inside the new facility is a 1,466sqm parts distribution centre, supplying dealers, customers and other areas of the building; a 1,939sqm workshop, with 16 bays, full chassis dyno, and two full-service service pits; and an aftermarket product showroom.

“Penske’s investment is a coup for local industry in Wiri, and the entire country,” Brown says.

“The employment of 90 staff across apprenticeships, mechanics, engineering and professional services is another big plus for Auckland.”

The facility is located at 4 Langley Road, Wiri, Auckland.
