Mack models recalled over electrical hazard

A range of Mack trucks are at risk of electrical faults caused by water damage

Volvo Group Australia has recalled a number of Mack Superliner, Trident, Granite, and Metroliner trucks due to potential electronic issues.

An Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice says the truck models are susceptible to water damage.

“The main switch may be exposed to water spray due to battery box positioning,” the notice says.

“Water ingress into the main switch may interfere with the vehicles electrics, which may result in break-downs, posing a traffic hazard.”

The models, sold nationally, fall under the MAINSWE and S-note variants and require a visit to authorised repair dealer.

A list of affected vehicles can be found here.
