The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued its second recall notice for Mitsubishi Fuso Canter trucks in as many days, with durability issues surrounding the trucks’ Duonic oil cooler hose arising.

"On affected vehicles, there is the possibility the DUONIC oil cooler hose (feed side only) may not be sufficiently durable," the ACCC notice says.

"In extreme cases, this may cause the cooler hose to burst, resulting in sudden loss of drive and oil spillage onto the road surface, causing a hazard to other road users and prevent safe operation of the affected vehicle."

The 2,886 Canter trucks in the second recall were on sale between March 25, 2011 and April 24, 2014 and, as with the fuel pump flange recall notice yesterday, the affected vehicles were sold nationally through authorised Fuso dealers.

The recall campaign identifier is RC0215DUONICHOS and letters will be sent to owners of affected trucks.
