Fuelco taps former BP man Vawdrey as CEO
Mal Vawdrey steps into expansion role.

Seasoned fuel industry executive Mal Vawdrey is the new CEO of storage and dispensing equipment company Fuelco.

Vawdrey, formerly a long-term senior executive with BP and local retail firm Reliance Petroleum, comes to what Fuelco describes as "a relatively new position" as the company settles into international manufacturing following its partnering with containerised, self-bunded tanks maker Logitank last year.

Fuelco managing director Brad Sands foresees Vawdrey’s 34 years in roles such as area sales manager, distributor manager and national commercial manager and more recently BP distributor business lead tasked with ensuring long-term business interests, will support him in his new position.

"In his new role as CEO, Mal will be responsible for delivering quality services, improving process & procedures, and ensuring our products are competitive internationally," Sands says.

"His results-oriented approach and ability to think strategically will play a pivotal role in extending our history of innovation, whilst helping us grow globally."

Meanwhile, Fuelco is due to make its Brisbane Truck Show debut this year.

"Our range of cost-effective refuelling solutions are ideal for the commercial road transport industry, especially when combined with a fuel dispensing and management system," the company, which will be at stand 321 on the Plaza Level, says.
