Recall on 2011-2013 Fuso Canters

Possibility of contamination in hydraulic system of dual clutch AMT

Recall on 2011-2013 Fuso Canters
Canter can have oil contamination issue with Duonic transmissions

Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks has recalled many of its light-duty Euro V Canters over a possible oil contamination issue with Duonic transmissions.

The Duonic is a dua-clutch automated manual transmission (AMT).

A notice issued by Product Recalls Australia says the Euro V trucks in question were available for sale between March 25, 2011 and September 30, 2013.

"On affected vehicles, there is the possibility that their Duonic transmissions may experience various shift issues due to contamination of the transmission’s hydraulic system," the notice says.

"As a consequence, there is the remote possibility the engine may stall or the vehicle may become immobile.

"In such cases, the transmission won’t shift from neutral to any gear.

"If the defect occurs, the vehicle may pose an accident hazard to other road users.

The notice says a letter will be sent to owners of affected vehicles.
