King Bars expanding into NSW

Queensland bullbar manufacturer takes aim at wider market with A&I Autogroup

King Bars expanding into NSW
Martin Nye eyes opportunity in Sydney

In a bid to expand into New South Wales, King Bars has developed a new bullbar range and partnered with aftermarket truck specialists A&I Autogroup.

King Bars says that the expansion is a response to a decline in its traditional market, which includes the mining and livestock industry.

"We have taken on board that we need to spread our market base and Sydney represented an obvious opportunity for us," managing director Martin Nye says.

The new bullbar range is designed specifically for NSW, and includes a highway bar suited for B-doubles.

"It’s a completely different market and we recognised the need to develop a bumper and bar that suited this market," Nye adds.

A & I Autogroup has been chosen as the supplier of the bull bars, which it will sell from its factory at Wetherill Park, in Sydney's west. A & I was chosen as it could offer local fitting, repairing and customer support.

"We historically have had minimal sales directly into NSW and we undertook the conscious decision to find someone that could support us there, because local support is always critical," Nye says.

"It doesn’t matter where people are, they want someone local that is going to fit, repair and stand by your product and for all those reasons we needed to find someone with a similar customer focus to us."
