MTU Detroit Diesel bolsters off-highway sales force

Christie-Johnston to look after engineering and marketing functions

MTU Detroit Diesel Australia has sought out a mining machinery expert to head its off-road sales effort.

The engines and power systems vendor plucked Hamish Christie-Johnston from Rockdrill Services Australia, a privately owned mining services company, where he was CEO, to become chief sales officer (off-highway).

“With a sound understanding of the markets in which MTU Detroit Diesel Australia operates, I believe that Hamish will make an important contribution to the business, especially given his strong leadership, relationship building, and strategic planning skills,” MTU Detroit Diesel Australia president and CEO Rob Sisk says.

As a member of the executive team, Christie-Johnston will be responsible for the off-highway business, encompassing the engineering and marketing functions.

A qualified mechanical engineer, he possesses an abundance of experience within sales, marketing and engineering in the areas of mining, manufacturing and construction, his new employer says.
