Iveco ACCO recall

Potential problem with battery power supply cable.

Iveco Trucks Australia has recalled Euro 5 ACCO trucks due to a potential electrical problem.

A notice issued by Product Recalls Australia says the routing of the power supply cable, from the battery to the starter motor solenoid, may not conform to design requirements.

“The battery positive cable may come into contact with other cable harnesses, or components installed in the area of the starter motor, which may lead to chafing of the components,” the notice states.

The recall applies to vehicles available for sale between May 31, 2011 and January 15 this year. The trucks were sold through authorised IVECO dealerships.

The notice advises consumers to return vehicles to these dealership for inspection.

It says the identifying feature is VIN number 6F2222300XXXXXXXX.
