The new Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid has made an appearance at the Hanover IAA show.
Fuso says the new truck, equipped with a dual clutch Duonic transmission and a refined electric drive system, will be manufactured in Portugal.
It means the company’s new factory in Tramagal, Portugal, will supply left-hand drive Eco Hybrid trucks to the European market. Production in the new factory is already under way.
Fuso claims its hybrid drive system can reduce fuel consumption by up to 23 percent. Daimler’s global hybrid centre in Japan developed the system.
The updated Canter Hybrid is expected to be released in Australia later this year.
