Giorgio Gallia replaces Jorge Garcia as the managing director of truck manufacturer Iveco
Iveco Trucks Australia has confirmed Giorgio Gallia as its new managing director, taking over from Jorge Garcia who has moved into a European posting.
Gallia comes to Australia from his most recent position as Director of Purchasing, Italy for FIAT Group Automobiles, after working in a number of positions in Europe and the USA.
“We have many exciting and challenging projects ahead. It is important for Iveco to continue innovating to meet the expectations of our customers and develop our product range in this unique and highly competitive market, ” he says.
“We have both the range and the desire to become the truck manufacturing company of choice for Australians. Our global resources and comprehensive product range, including Euro 5 emission compliant trucks and gas and hybrid technologies will enable us to continue innovating and service our customer needs now and in years to come.”
Iveco Trucks Australia thanked Garcia for his contribution and wished him well in his new challenge.
Gallia, who has a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA, is married with four children, and will be based at Iveco’s head office in Dandenong, Victoria.
